We'd be pleased to announce our visitors that Turkish Government has announced that by the starting days of 2005 new Turkish Currency will be in circulation and current notes and coins will be valid up to the end of year 2005. This improvement is a kind of adaptation by omitting last 6 zero in the notes. As a simple example 1 million Turkish Liras (TRL) will be 1 New Turkish Lira (YTL) in 2005 and so. In order to make this adaption smooth, government will use new notes exactly with same colors and same appearance but the last 6 zeros. Furthermore there are 2 new notes 50 YTL and the most valuable one 100 YTL has also been announced.

We're happy to announce that our 20 Million note is released in the middle of November 2001. Currently this note have greatest value on the market. Despite of the greatness, 20 Million does not offer so much, for instance 2 people can have a dinner in a standard restaurant, 4 people can go out at night for a cinema, you can spend a night in a 2 or 3 star hotel, also 2 music CDs can be bought, you may go for a shopping for casual needs. Sometimes you may face with difficulty to change this banknote for your small shoppings, so avoid carrying this note all time for simple shopping purposes.

Here is our 10 Million Turkish Liras ! This is currently greatest note for the currency. Now let's check what we can do with this note in Turkey. 2 person can have a dinner in an ordinary restaurants, 2 or 3 persons can go to the cinema, 6 or 7 packet of foreign cigarettes can be bought, you can fill your tank up to quarter level.

Here is the third banknote of the Turkish Money: 5.000.000TL Sounds nice doesn't it? Due to the high inflation the value of the money goes down. With 5 Million 2 person can go for lunch or dinner a second class restaurant, you can buy 2 king size sandwiches, 4 bottles of 1 liter coke (1 liter each), you can travel via mid class suburbian services, you can purchase some ornaments, a kilo of cheese or good quality of fish, a shirt, t-shirt or tie...

1 Million is ideal for your casual expenses. You can buy a can of coke from the supermarket, a packet of domestic cigarette, a small bottle of water, some small pack nuts, pay for 2 person for dolmushes, 2 bagel, some candies, 2 packets of chewing gum, small cookies etc.
500.000 Turkish Liras

500.000 is essential money for daily your expenses. You can buy a packet of chewing gum, a bagel, a bottle of coke in discount stores, may be a very small ice cream, a packet of small bottled milk, 2 native newspapers, a packets of small chocolate, you may use public transportation per ride and that's it.

250.000 is another casual bank note. Nothing much for buying. You can buy a fruit juice, some junk snacks, a packet of praline, a pencil, some junk cookies, a tulip shaped cup of tea etc. Good for casual tipping.
100.000 Turkish Liras

100.000 is so convenient for daily trade. You may use this bank note for small tipping. Nothing actually to buy with this amount. In the near future this note will be stopped using by the treasure. The coin version has newly been released in late 2001. Note and coin is generally used for the supplement of normal amounts. Banknote is the next candidate which will be taken out of the circulation by the government.
50.000 Turkish Liras

50.000 is no longer valuable as a banknote. If someone tries to hand you just ignore. Banknote is taken out of the circulation by the government. Instead, you may use the coin version.
